About Trevor Christensen
How I became a photographer:

In high school I had a crush on a particular girl.

Her name was Selena, we met in orchestra class. She played the violin, I played the cello. She liked Blink 182 and punk music, I liked Radiohead and the stuff that brooding indie labels put out.

In hindsight, it is easy to see that we were doomed from the start.

One day we were chatting about our Spring schedules. She mentioned that she was taking a beginning photography class, but was sad because she didn't have any friends in it. My Freshman heart immediately recognized this as my opportunity to win her Sophomore heart. That day I raced home to register for Mr. Halverson's 4th period Photo 1 class.

And what do you know, it wasn't long before I was in love.

With photography.

That was almost eight years ago. Today I'm still pretty much doing the same thing: avoiding real work, getting crushes on girls and taking lots and lots of photos.

Life is good.
Internet!

So you want to find out more about me, eh? If you're into those internet sorts of things, I can be found on Tumblr, Twitter, Pinterest and Facebook.

In addition to those social networks, I also have a blog where I post wedding and portrait photography, a blog where I talk about working on side projects (like video and promotional shoots) and a site where you can check out the photography zine I publish every so often.

(Again, here are my big four:)

Stats about Trevor:

Age: 22.

Born: Utah.

Height: 5’10, but it’s a tall 5’10.

Into: Girls. Nothing wrong with the alternative though.

Favorite Band: I dunno, Ratatat is up there.

Worst Injury: I broke my wrist skateboarding once. Bad scene.

Favorite Photographer: Annie Leibovitz.

Years Photographing: 8. Started when I was a Freshman at Provo High, loved it almost immediately.

Why do you take pictures? I don’t quite know. I love to make things and I’m very curious about people, but one can do those things without photography.

I guess I just like to show people how I see the world, one box at a time.

What are your catchphrases? “Huh, that’s interesting” and "Into it" go a long way with me.

What is your dream location to shoot at? Don’t get me wrong, I can appreciate a well manicured garden, but the locations that really get my heart beating are old and covered with vines. I like a place with some history. I think a estate with an interesting past or a castle.
Why hire Trevor? (6 reasons.)

1. I think about photography all the time. It's not a fleeting interest or a fun hobby, it's my passion.

2. You look best when you're comfortable, having fun and stress free. I understand that you might think you're "not photogenic" or "never look good in pictures," but I promise you that you've never had your picture taken right. Call me up and lets make that happen.

3. Because I like to laugh! Which means hanging out with me is fun.

4. Because I spend plenty of time working on personal work too. You don't want to hire someone who only does one thing. In art, it's important to try new things and make mistakes. Personal work is where I get messy, professional work is where I apply what I've learned.

5. Because I will turn you down if I can see we're not the right fit. As much as it pains my ego to admit it, I may not be the right photographer for everyone. Every once in a while I have to turn down work because I'm just not the best photographer for the job. The fact that I might not say yes guarentees that when I do, it's because you're the right clients for me.

6. Because you're really going to like my philosophy about taking pictures.
